THE MEANING BEHIND THE NAME: POLARI-ATL
The Polari of antiquity: an unofficial language used to talk in code to find out if the next individual was a part of the LGBTQ+ community or not. Our history is riddled with learned behavior of hiding in plain sight and having fun in private quarters else face public shaming of various sorts.
Today, we are celebrated for being OUT by the beauty in our dance, our talk and the essence of our walk. Everything beautiful about our community and culture is on full display in every field and industry.
Thus, I bring to you POLARI-ATL!

I spent most of my young adult years in and out of various Atlanta strip clubs and lounges; Magic City being my favorite. Although my sexuality is synonymous with LGBTQ+, we had very little in the city dedicated for ‘us’ at the time. I desired to see more diversity in the same limelight as the norm, but that was Atlanta then which was very heterosexual.
Sexual fluidity is ever more present in plain sight. It’s across today’s Atlanta skyline, mirrored everywhere in our modern culture and entertainment. I believe it is time to also modernize and advance the offerings of a strip club.
